Using StoryLine 2 with either MSFT IE 11 or Edge?

Aug 25, 2015

Hi All

Starting a new team to develop OLT for learners, I may be able to go with Storyline 2 as the authoring Tool, but notice that the endorsement from Articulate for compatible HTML5 browsers doesn't seem to be that strong for IE or the new Edge browser. In fact under Windows it suggests Chrome? For political reasons that's probably not do-able. Wondered if anyone has experience with Storyline 2 with these Microsoft browsers using the export HTML5 options? Or other options?

Thanks

Warwick

Hi Warwick,

I haven't seen a lot of users mention that set up yet, but as you noted they're not supported browsers for HTML5 content.

If you choose to publish for HTML5, here is how the Storyline file will determine which version (Flash or HTML5) to show the user. In regards to how it may work, you may want to take a look at a site such as HTML5test.com which shows how different browsers will work with HTML5 content and breaks it down into individual categories with a scoring/points system. That makes it easy to compare Chrome (as the supported browser on a PC) to IE11 or even Edge.

Hi Warwick I find IE11 HTML5 work well  with most Articulate content, I will test most content and rarely have issues with the HTML output.  if I am asked to produce content for a non-supported browser it often means I need to test a little more.  Never tested Edge as never had a need to I would hope it performs better than IE 11
