Using the same slide in multiple scenes

Jan 24, 2021

Is there an easy way to link the same slide to multiple scenes - I am currently duplicating the slide to use it in both scenes.

HI John,

One option you could use is to create a number variable called, for example, "Scene", which you would set to the number of the scene you are working through before jumping to the additional slide. When the user clicks on the Next button at the end of the slide, a trigger jumps them back to the next slide in the appropriate scene, dependent on the value of the variable. Personally, if it was only going to be a couple of slides, I would duplicate them, but if you intend doing this often, the above solution may suit your needs.

The other thing I would mention is that, if you simply want to be able to view the information on the additional slide at several different stages throughout your course (e.g. a glossary or a menu), but don't necessarily want it to look like a seamless change from one slide to the next, you could consider using a lightbox slide. This will place the slide on top of the one you are currently working through and then return you to your original slide when you close the lightbox slide.

Hope this helps, but if you have any further queries, just get back to me here.
