Variables and reference expertise needed

I have a course that will be viewed by users in various countries. On the first slide, I want them to choose which country they reside in. I then need a variable/reference that will change key words throughout the course (i.e., change "resume" to "CV") depending on what country they select.
I'm having trouble figuring out how to set this up properly. Would this be something I would need to set up on the master slide so it affects every reference to "resume" through the course?

Hi Karen,
Depending on how many countries you are dealing with and how many words you may wish to change, one option (possibly the only option !) is to use text variables.
I have amended your original file (see attachment below) and created two variables. The Country variable starts at zero and changes to 1 for the US or 2 for the UK. The DocType text variable is set to "Resume" if Country = 1 and CV if Country = 2, when the Next button is selected.
In your subsequent slides I have replaced the word Resume with the variable reference %DocType%. Note that where you have the word Resume in capital letters (at the top of your slides) it is important that you format the reference to All Caps by highlighting it, right clicking and selecting Font to access the font formatting dialogue. Simply typing the reference in capital letters won't work:
The other thing to note is the order of the Player Triggers. It is essential that you change the DocType variable before jumping to the next slide.
Hope this helps.
This is fantastic! I learned so much from you sharing your expertise on this! I am very grateful for your help. Thank you a thousand times... :)
No problem Karen, I'm glad to have been able to help.
Even if you don't have any questions to post, I would highly recommend reading the community discussions on a regular basis as you will find you learn so much from other people's issues and the responses they receive. I constantly refer to them to improve my knowledge of the software and what it can do. :)
