variables? triggers? I'm not even sure...
Apr 26, 2013
I've never done this before so this may be a very simple question, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've attached my course with most of the slides deleted so it's just the functioning shell of a course.
On slide 1.2 I want the layer "completed course" to show when both buttons on the slide are visited. I need the user to visit both sections of the course. When they finish the second section, it will bring them back to slide 1.2 where the layer will show. They click on the button to take them to the test.
I've been trying all different things and haven't found anything that works. I probably just had the triggers out of order or something simple. I've deleted what I've done because I made a mess!
The course is cleaned up now so that someone looking at it doesn't have to work with the mess I made.
Thanks!

Hi there Jill!
The first thing I noticed for slide 1.2 is that the revisiting settings are currently "Automatically decide". You'll want to change this to "Resume saved state" so that the visited states of the buttons stay the same when you return to the slide.
Next, you'll want to add a trigger that calls the "completed course" layer when both of those button's states are equal to "Visited". You'll want this to show when the user returns to the slide, correct? If so, you'll want to have this trigger fire when the timeline starts.
It should look something like this:
This seems to be working pretty well. Could you take a look at the modified file (attached) and see if this works for you?
Thanks!

Is there a better place in this world than the e-Learning Heroes forum?!?
Thank you so much! That's exactly what I was trying to do, and I definitely over complicated it.
Have a great weekend!
You are very welcome, Jill! :) Happy I was able to help!
I hope you have a great weekend, too :D
