Very confused over hotspots and states
Oct 14, 2013
Morning all,
I am working on a project where I need hot spots that I have set up to show states after the user has clicked a submit button.
Only one answer is correct and they can have two tries.
My problem is that for the life of me I can't get it to work correctly.
For each hot spot I have created a transparent button over the top which has the following states; drop correct, drop incorrect, selected.
Initially the selected state works, then when the user presses the submit button the appropriate layer shows, if they are wrong I want the original selection to change state to drop incorrect but at the moment it is still showing as selected.
Any advice is very much appreciated as I am tearing my hair out trying to figure out what I'm missing here!
Emily.

It needs to be under the hotspot, you are probably better using custom states rather than the built in ones, sounds like you are pressing the button and it is showing as selected.
Many thanks for your reply, I have anther question now!
I have added triggers to each of the hotspot buttons but I only want the one that was selected to show the returned state, but now once the user presses the submit button ALL of the hotspot buttons are showing a state when the feedback layer has been hidden and not just the one that was originally selected.
Hi Beansprout,
Are you able to share that slide from your .story file here with us so that we could take a look at how you've set up all the triggers? If you'd prefer to share it privately you can send it to me here.
Hi Beansprout - Agree with Ashley it would be easier to help you if we could see your story file but in the mean time try adding all of the buttons to a button set. To do this right click on each of the buttons, select Button State from the popup menu and select Button set 1.
This will ensure only the button that is selected displays the selected state.
