Very disappointing

May 11, 2015

Having updated from Storyline to Storyline 2 as I go into existing training modules I have built I am transferring them into Storyline 2. I am now finding that slides now have slide transition inserted randomly and in particular when you submit quiz answers, the result is displayed and before you get chance to move on the result and next button is removed from the screen !!

Storyline 2 is good but please get your testing right. I would expect my courses to at least perform as I expected so thanks for the extra work

Hi, Steve -- Sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties, but there are a few things I would like to suggest to rule out some common issues. As you mentioned moving automatically, please make sure your slide properties are not set to advance automatically.

If issues persist, please check out this information on upgrading to Storyline 2. Also, please ensure that you are working locally as described here, and you may want to try importing the file into a new file. If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline. Otherwise, you are welcome to submit a support case and our team will be happy to take a closer look for you.

Hi

Thank you for your reply, I will check things out as suggested, my point was though, if things were set not to advance automatically in storyline, why then when it updates into storyline 2 does it decide randomly to introduces transitions. The frustrating thing is that it is so random.

With over 40 courses with around 170 sections, each around 30 min's long it is a great deal of slides to look through to check the transition.

 Thanks

Hi

Thanks for getting back in touch with me. The slides advance when the default next/forward buttons are clicked on, normally the slides do not have any animation or transitions, therefore its strange why storyline has inserted some transitions into some slides but not all, it's totally random

Hi, Steve and David -

I can definitely understand your concerns, and since what you are seeing is random in nature, it is usually helpful to run the repair/address Unexpected or Erratic Behavior in Articulate Storyline 2. If issues persist after you check that out, our Support Team would be happy to investigate for you further. Please use this form to submit your case.

Steve - I'd also like to note that when you reply via email, your email signature is displayed publicly here in the thread, so you are welcome to edit your post to remove this information if you wish.
