Very slow drag & drop interaction

I have a drag & drop interaction in my file and when I select that slide to work on it, Storyline responds extremely slowly - 5 seconds between mouse presses, just on this slide. After some searching I found this very old thread suggesting that I may be working with large images and this is causing Storyline to slow up.
So the slide in question has 8 images on it, each about 200 x 150 pixels on the slide. Problem is, they're all from Content Library so they are large file sizes that I can't control.
Is my only option to export, resave as a smaller file and replace, or are there plans to be able to choose large/medium/small images from Content Library?

That is a very old thread and an older version of Storyline, so I'm not confident that you're running into the same issue.
With your permission, I'd like you to share your project file with our support engineers to investigate what's happening. You can share it privately by uploading it here. It will be deleted when troubleshooting is complete.
