video & audio simultaneously in html5

May 30, 2017

I've read somewhere that I can no longer recall that a video file and a separate audio file cannot play on the same slide simultaneously on a slide when using HTML5.

I've done narration in an audio file, and a separate video file. Sure, I could combine them, but would rather not.

When I preview, both my audio and video work fine. Do I remember it correctly that some browsers won't support this? Is it reliable to have both files play simultaneously in HTML5 cross browsers?

No limitation, though I'd suggest bundling the audio and video streams together if possible, and finding a quality video hosting service that offers multiple bitstream transcoding so your best stream is served up by the service as determined at learner connection time. Web based multimedia is very complex. Good luck
