Video Clips - Unable to Save due to "there is not enough space on the disk"

Sep 10, 2018

Hi There,

Could someone please assist me with this challenge with articulate storyline 3. The video clips will upload, but the program will not allow me to save my work indicating "there is not enough space on the disk". I have tried shutting down, restarting, completed updates, checked size of my file and there should be no issue.

Please help.

Welcome to the community, Hailey! You've come to the right place for help. 🌟

I found a similar discussion started by another community member here: "There is not enough space on the disk." Looks like clearing the temp files may help fix this memory issue.

I do want to err on the side of caution there, though–as Storyline saves temp files, so you can restore a project if needed. If you're comfortable with deleting those files, here's how:

  1. Open Windows Explorer, type %temp% in the address field, and press Enter.
  2. When your temp directory opens, hold Ctrl+A to select all the temp files. Then, press the Delete key.
  3. A few temp files may be in use, so you won't be able to delete those. When prompted, feel free to skip them.

If you're still seeing that error or prefer not to delete these files, let our Support Engineers know! They'll do a deep dive on your setup to get this sorted out.

Hi, Doug. Sorry for the trouble, and appreciate you trying the steps above!

We haven't been able to track down the source, so we'll need your help to unlock this mystery:

  • Have you tried saving to a different directory?
  • Is this happening with multiple Storyline files or a certain one?
  • Would you mind sharing the .story file so we can take a closer look? You can share it privately with our Support Engineers by using this upload link. We'll let you know what we find, and will delete it after troubleshooting!
