Video - last bit of audio playing when returning to slide

Mar 30, 2015

Hi,

I have created a slide which plays video automatically.  I have used a seek bar for this slide because it has additional objects which appear during the video(mp4).  At the end of the video, the learner has to click a button to see answers to the questions asked in the video.  When the learner clicks on the 'check answer button', another layer opens and provides them the answer.  When the learner closes this layer it returns to the video slide.  I have used Jump to slide x trigger for the close button as hiding the layer shows a blank slide.  For some reason the slide does not retain the saved state of the video.  'Jump to slide' however works fine.

My issue is that when I jump back to the video slide it plays the last bit of audio form the video.  Usually the last word or two.  How can I resolve this?

Regards

Darshan

Hi Darshan,

Thanks for sharing your file here. It's unusual behavior in the sense that it's going back maybe a second or two. What I did was ensure the slide was set to "resume saved state" (originally it was automatically decide) and then I extended the timeline of the slide and all other elements besides the video for an additional second. The video then disappears and isn't reheard once you've listened to the whole thing and you're able to return to the base slide and still have access to the buttons. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Hi Ashley,

Yes, I did try this and I wanted the video to stay so that when the learner returned to the base slide it looked exactly how they left it.  I played with some triggers and just found a solution for the problem.  For the close button on the layer, I added a trigger which paused the base video.  This works because when the learner returns to the base slide the video is paused and does not play the last second or two.  Triggers save the day :)
