Video not playing and unable to save project on ipad

May 18, 2012

I just opened a project on iPad using the Articulate Player app.  The project was stored on a local server rather than the Articulate tempshare server.  The project opens with the App but the videos don't play.  Also, when I try to save the project to view off line, I receive an error message that the project cannot be saved since some files cannot be found.

When I save it through tempshare, it works fine.

Not sure why this is happening.  I did look in the Project output folder . . . when I opened the story_content folder, the videos are all there.  However, when I open the "mobile" folder, the video files are not there - only a .jpg image of the video file.  I tried copying the actual video files from the story_content folder into the mobile folder, but still didn't work.  I don't know if the mobile folder is the one being downloaded on ipad but, if so, it seems like the videos aren't being linked to.  Any help or guidance?

Thanks

Hey guys,

did any of you resolve this issue?

I have the same problem with a course, videos won't play. I've uploaded it to tempshare, it works on a laptop, but on my iPad with the articulate player app it's another story...

i hope the issue has been resolved, considering this thread is half a year old one could hope so

Hi Dean and welcome to Heroes!

I took a look at a few of the cases mentioned - and there didn't seem to be a common thread, hence no update here. In the most recent case, it was an issue with uploading the published output to a server and not keeping the files together in a single published folder.

If you could tell us a bit more about what you're experiencing and the set up your using (publish to web  vs. LMS, testing on iPad version and iOS version, etc.) that would help narrow down which issue was the most similar to yours. Also, please feel free to share your .story file here with us so that we can take a look.
