Video Plays Blank in Ipad

Mar 18, 2014

I am using the Articulate iPad App to run a course. The course has a heavy video content and has multiple videos per slide each contained in its own layer.

When I open the layer, the video plays automatically as designed. The video completes and then a trigger causes the layer to close. If I open the layer again, the video again plays but a black output is seen instead of the video. The audio plays ok each time.

If I open another layer and allow its video to play then go back to the original layer, the original layer opens and the video plays but the second time I again get a black output with only audio playing.

If I run the course on a PC/Mac, it works ok.

Regards,

Ewanm

Hi Ewan,

I've seen this before in another user's file although I'm unsure what cause the issue originally as when they sent along the video files I was able to insert them into a new file and everything behaved as expected. You may want to try importing the existing course into a new storyline project.

You'll also want to check that when creating, editing, and publishing Articulate Storyline courses, be sure you're working on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes, and loss of resources. See this article for more information.
