I was just curious, if you import a video into Storyline and cut it, will the file output when you publish include the original size of the video or the cut down size? Just curious if I can get away with cutting a video inside Storyline instead of doing them all in Premier.
Depending on the video type, you can edit them directly in Storyline. After you've inserted a video, you'll right click on the video placeholder within your slide and click "Edit Video" that will bring up our Video Editor, which will allow you to crop, trim, adjust volume, brightness etc. Here are some directions for how to edit a video, including the different video types that are editable within Storyline. It will save any of your changes, and that is what will appear when you publish.
All very helpful information but I may have not communicated my question well enough. I am trying to find out if the file size changes. For example, say the video you load into storyline is 10mb. You then trim the video to a smaller clip and it becomes 2mb, does the output of the storyline package keep the 10mb size or does it only include the 2mb size you trimmed? I know hte output only shows your trimmed piece of the video but I am concerned about the file size.
Thanks for the clarification! Storyline was built to allow for compression of all videos so that you could retain the highest possible quality at the lowest possible size. You can find how we handle that here.
So if you trim the video to a smaller clip, that's what will end up being compressed.
