I am trying to figure out a way to have zoom areas be triggered only when the user clicks a certain area of the screen. See below, but is it possible to have the user click a number, then zoom into the area clicked to tell them more information, and have the zoom out happen when they close the zoom area information?
Here's my solution, use invisible buttons as hotspots and then link it to a slide with the same image but each slide has a different zoom region based on the user's section on the overall image. I used buttons instead of hotspots so you can create any kind of rollover states or other states depending on your needs. I also have a slide transition to avoid the snap back look. The fade back is a little more elegant.
This forum thread is a bit dated, but I certainly appreciate you popping in to share your solution and an example Brian. If you were hoping to assist a particular user, you may want to reach out to them directly via the 'Contact Me' option on their profile. Otherwise, I'm sure you will be able to assist those that run across this thread in the future.
The reply from Oscar is a bit dated, but I took a look at the file he shared and wanted to point out that a similar solution, with a click is what Brian shared above. Check out his solution here and that may be just what you are looking for.

Just a comment to say thank you for this forum thread. Although it is dated, I found it very helpful.
Always happy to hear that Anita - let us know if you need anything else!
It'd be great to figure out a way to get it to pause on the zoom the go back after another click.
