Web object failing to load a page in Google Chrome & Firefox

Jun 13, 2018

We are trying to redesign a required student activity that around ~3,000 students a semester complete using Articulate Storyline 360.

However, in our prototype the web object is failing to open a page they are told to open when in a Google Chrome or Firefox browser. This failure does not happen in Internet explorer.

I am including the draft link here: https://lo.library.wisc.edu/evaluating_search_results/story_html5.html

(there are 6 title slides in a row, our production student was playing with potential designs).

If you navigate beyond the title and introduction slide it will open a web object with a side navigation. Students at one point are asked to follow a few steps and then open "Academic Search" which is a database. In internet explore this works perfectly. In Google Chrome and Firefox it says that you have to allow unsafe script, then you have to reload the activity and re-navigate to this page for it to work. I even tried separating the web objects into two so that the database would load on its own and this is still happening. Is there a way to make this work so that students don't have to reload the entire activity?

This is urgent.

Hi Alexandra!

Thanks for reaching out here and for also opening a support case! When I tested the link you shared, I also got stuck after clicking the "Academic Search" step. I suspect this is because the next page is asking me to "log in with your NetID." Ronaziel is also testing your file, and you should hear back from her shortly.

I'm going to keep an eye on your case as you two work together to find out what's causing this!
