Web Object not working in LMS

Jul 23, 2014

I want my learners to be able to diretly access a webpage so I created a web object. It works fine when I publish it and try it on my computer. It works when I upload it to SCORM Cloud. However, I can't get it to show at all in our LMS (and I can't get it to work properly in Adobe Connect as a SCORM content item but this isn't how we typically would view it but I thought I'd try anyway). I've reached out to my LMS vendor to see what they know but I thought I'd see if there is anyone with advice becuase it might be easier if I can give my vendor some additional information.

Thanks!

Hi Mary,

For most any LMS-related issue, this blog post is the place to begin.

You also want to be certain that you are packaging your published content properly for your LMS.

Since you cannot reproduce the problem in SCORM Cloud, this is likely an LMS-specific issue, and you will want to generate debug logs and supply them to your LMS Provider for additional troubleshooting. If you've already shared that information with the LMS, hopefully they'll be in touch with you soon regarding the problem.

It may help to also let us know which LMS you're currently using. There may be other community members that use the same service, and they may be able to provide some tips. :)

I haven't personally worked with Adobe Connect, so I'm afraid I can't share any advice for that service.

In the meantime, please let us know if you have any updates on the issue!

Thanks for all of the info! The vendor is LearnLive, they are focused on the accounting industry. I was able to send some debug logs for them to look at. I also tested out a different website (outside of our internal network) and found that the internal website was a problem (interestingly enough it caused DIFFERENT issues in IE9 than it did in Firefox), but if I used a public website, it worked fine. So I'm thinking we might have a firewall issue or something of that nature. I will try to keep this post updated in case others run into similar issues.
