What kind of iPad testing would you recommend?

May 16, 2013

Hello everyone,

This is going to be my first time producing a fairly complex Storyline Course that must be iPad compatible and tracked on an LMS. What kind of testing would you recommend to ensure that it works well on iPads and on the LMS? What devices? What OS'? Etc.

Thank you very much,

Ellen

Hi Ellen,

I haven't had much experience with developing content for Ipads but here are my suggestions:

- Ensure you adhere to the guidelines suggested by Articulate http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=st1&id=1568gg1ayot2

- Test the content as you build it by publishing to html5 and viewing it on an Ipad or web browser (Chrome/ Firefox)

- Adjust your design based on the outcomes of your testing

- Allow extra time to accomodate for extra testing

- Upload to articulate's tempshare site to test at significant stages (mimics how it should behave when hosted on LMS)  http://tempshare.articulate.com/

In my experience, even when you adhere to the guidelines you can still see erratic behaviour.

NB: to my knowledge you can't use articulate player for Ipad and track success in an LMS- you need to use one or the other.

Hope this helps,

Harri
