I am trying to develop an activity where learners need to identify the different areas of the ear. I want the learners to either drag the words from a word bank or have a drop-down of the list of possible answers, and the learners will pick the right ones.
This is a photo of what I want to do.
also, if the learners give only half the correct answers, I want a way to show them which they got right and which they got wrong.
What are the best ways to develop this activity on Articulate Storyline?
Drop down lists look more elegant, to me, but they require a lot of triggers, so they take a lot of work, and there is nothing in SL that will help you.
The disadvantage of DnD is that it is harder to make them compliant, and they are difficult for learners using phones or tablets.
On a positive note, regardless of which you choose, you need make only one, and copy it to all the others.
Either way, you would start with the exact picture you showed. Make the blanks all the same size to avoid giving unintentional clues.
If you are doing a DnD, put each word in the word bank in its own text box, and make it a drag item, with the boxes as targets. If you give each word a distinct Drop Correct, and Drop Incorrect, it will show which ones are right and wrong.
Thanks for your reply. I would rather do a drop-down menu. I agree with the elegance, I just do not know how yet haha. Also no it does not have to be graded, but I do want to let the learners know which ones they got right.
WOW, this is soo helpful and cool. Thank you so much. I'm going to look at all the triggers and layers you made and try to recreate them myself. Thanks so much for all your help.

Does this need to be graded?

Actually, I took a half-done drop down menu I was working on, and it proved to be adaptable to this.
If you want to give them only one chance, change the trigger on the Check Answers layer. Change it from "Hide ..." to "Jump ..." or whatever.
