When Storyline is published to Cornerstone, video does not work

Jul 19, 2013

Hi there!

I've scoured the forums for an answer to my question and have come up empty handed.  There is a particular course we offer that is basically just a screen capture video with voiceover.  I have the video saved as an MP4 and tried to put it in Storyline so that we can 1) Track it and 2) So that our courses will all have a similar look and feel.

After publishing (for LMS), we tried uploading into our Cornerstone pilot system and while the course itself loads beautifully, the video is simply gone.  Can anyone provide insight as to why this is happening? In preview, the video looks fine, and once the Story is published it looks great when viewed alone as well.

Thank you!

Hi there!  Cornerstone apparently fixed it.  They never told us what was wrong :-/

But I do have an issue that seems to be definitely Storyline related- when I import video, the quality is never as good as the original.  This is true of .wmv, .mp4, and screen capture of the video.  The quality is deteriorated immediately upon importing the video to a slide-so I know it's not a publishing quality issue. Any ideas?

Hi Kelly! Thanks for that update. Too bad they did not let you know what was up, but at least you are good there.

Here is an article that explains how Storyline handles video compression that may help you. If you would like some additional help with this issue, then please feel free to submit your .story file so that support can have a look.
