Why are my quiz questions no fully loading in my published LMS file for Storyline 1?

Sep 06, 2016

I created a course in Storyline 1 a few years ago--pages with text/images and a 5 questions quiz--pretty simple. It runs on my organization's LMS perfectly. Recently, an outside company purchased the course from us to run on their own LMS. The client just reported that one of their users is having issues with the quiz questions being 'blank'. They sent me a screen shot and all that appears on the quiz pages are the images. The question text and responses are missing for all 5 questions. I have been using Storyline for years and I have never had this happen before. I asked her what browser she is using as well as Flash Player, as a troubleshooting starting point. Any idea what would cause such a thing? Please help!!

Thanks!

Hi Emily,

Thanks for the information-this is very helpful.

I received some additional information from the client. She claims that the course will only work on Google Chrome. When they launch the course in IE 11, the quiz questions will not fully load. Since IE 11 meets the viewing requirements for Storyline do you have any idea why this is happening? Do you still think there is potentially an issue with their LMS?

Thanks so much!

Hi Cassandra,

When using HTML5 in publish, you can load the zipped file into the LMS, It will play the Flash version by default, and HTML5 when Flash is not available. However, if they are linking users to the HTML5 version only this would not be supported in IE.

It does not sound like they are doing that, so they may want to investigate more from their LMSs end.

Let me know if you need anything further.

Hi Emily,

That's very interesting. I will ask the client, but I doubt that is the case because they are new to eLearning and their LMS (or perhaps I am the only one that didn't know about linking directly to HTML5 output? :)).

So if their LMS is the issue, (I know we still need to test on the Cloud) what can be done to remedy the situation?

Thanks again!
