Why I get this message, at the end of a storyline learning step?

Feb 09, 2018

Hi all,

Yesterday I  imported a published to SCORM 2004 project into our LMS. On the last slide of the project, I set the trigger "Exit course". The last slide looks as attached.

I then tested the project in our LMS and it works fine. After I had finished it and revisited it again, I got a message that asks me, "Would you like to continue the Quiz, where you exited it the last time".

Where does this message come from? In this project, I have a few quiz slides, but in the middle of the project. It doesn't make sense to me that I get asked this after having reached the last slide. The learnerns would expect to revisit the last page. They would want to go back to this learning step, to revisit a page they want to rehears so they would like to come back to the last slide, from where they can go back to the slide, via the menu on the left.

Am I making myself clear? How do you end a learning step? I hope to be understandable with my description and would appreciate any hints.

best regards
Roland

Hi guys

Thx for the superfast replies. Gotta say, that it's my very first project to export to our LMS. I picked up the "Exit course" trigger in a discussion thread, but am not exactly sure, what is the common and best way to end my learning steps.

@Matthew: Would I have to set a trigger, to close the window manually? If yes, which one? Currently I have these triggers - see attached - on the last page.

@Phil: This last slide is not a quiz slide. I have slides in the course, that have been build in Quizmaker, but not that last slide of the learning step.

And what do you mean by: "...you may have edited the text labels found under the player." Where under the player? I am not aware, having edited text lables.

Would it help, if I attache the whole project?

Thanks so far and best regards
Roland

On the home tab press the player button and select text labels the label which you show should read

Would you like to resume where you left off?

I think because you imported or started with slides from quiz maker, that is why you have that text instead. I think all you have to do is edit the text as the resume will always work the same way.

That's true, Phil. I started the course with a freebie interaction and developed it further from there.

Yes, that's actually what I'd like. If the learner leafes the course - deliberately or by accident, e.g. when closing the brower window - I'd like him/her to restart from where the course was left. If the course has been finished, the restart would be the last slide.

Got it, but I checked the player and "text lables" and it says "German".  Could it have to do with the "Reporting and Tracking Options" I added to the export (attached)?

However, thanks for the hint and I will try to export a version in SCORM 2004, 3rd or 4th edition and see, if it works.

Have a great weekend
Roland
