Why is my file so large?

Sep 16, 2019

Hi - I have a file that is over 1G and i only have 1 video in it (205MB) and I have been through the media library and removed all the unused media.

Why would it be so large?

Thanks!

Hi Kate

I find that happens if you do save as each time to make a copy or backup.  I normally do a copy of the file and rename it before I start making changes and then just use save when I finish - for me it doesn't seem to blow out like it does using save as.

If you want you can create a new project file and import the current slides in and save - see what the difference is...you'll be amazed.

Wendy - you are my hero - and I will!  This project has heaps on videos in it - one is over 19 minutes long.  Trying to reduce the size of the videos using handbrake.  At one stage the storyline file was 6G!

Trying to condense it down - considering breaking it into two modules for the LMS to try and help matters!

Wendy - this is the project so far.  we are not keen on embedding the videos from vimeo as we don't have a business account and don't want to have the black screen at the end with our other videos as suggested items to view.
any tips and ideas welcome - i've been using articulate for about 10 months now and still have my training wheels on.

Hey Kate - have you seen this video - shows how to customise the last screen and stop other video suggestions - not sure if that will help you.

Good to see the size reduce to 425MB (lol)

Thanks for that tip - i've looked and vimeo has been updated since that tutorial - will have to find an updated one as the management tools look very different now!
