Will Google's decision to drop NPAPI on September 1, 2015 affect playback of non HTML5 SL2 Content?

Aug 18, 2015

I ask this, because I know that the "standard" output (non-HTML5 or App version) uses Flash, which uses NPAPI up until flash player v. 11 or so.

Thanks!

Hi Adam,

I had to do a little digging on this one. According to this link, "Flash is not affected by the move in Chrome as Google is maintaining a custom version of Flash called Pepper Flash that uses a new plugin framework specific to the browser." So as long as you haven't disabled PPAPI to use NPAPI you should be ok.

I checked with our Dev team, and they confirmed the above as well.
