I am planning to upgrade to Storyline 3 using my Storyline 2 license. I was just wondering if my Storyline 2 license would still work on my computer.
In case clients want to make updates to the eModules, I want to be able to continue working on Storyline 2 because some of the formatting gets messed up if I convert the files to SL3.
I still have Storyline 1 and 2, in addition to 360. The cool thing is that you can run them all concurrently.
The only headache is setting the "default" version that your computer should use to open a .story file. Most of the time I open the version I want to use then browse to the file I'm opening.
I like Brian am running Storyline 1, 2, 3 and 360 all on the same machine. As he said, they'll all use a .story file so you'll need to tell Windows which version of Storyline to open the file with. Or, you can also open the version of Storyline you want to use and then browser for the file.
The important part to keep in mind, is that Storyline (any version) isn't backwards compatible. So changes you make to a file in Storyline 360 can't be opened in Storyline 2 for example. If you open a file in a newer version, we'll also make a back up copy so that you can always use the original in the older version.
