Will iPad Downloaded Courses Stop Working on 1-1-2020?

Oct 06, 2020

Greetings:

Can anyone tell me what will happen to my customer's courses that are downloaded to the customer's iPad after January 1, 2020? I understand that Flash won't be supported after 2020, but I'm not sure what that means for customers who have downloaded courses and use the AMP to view them.

1. Will courses already downloaded stop working?

2. Will the AMP be removed from the App store after January 1, 2020?

Thank you,
Rod Machado

Hello Rod,

Thanks for taking the time to write in and for all your contributions to this topic! I'm happy to provide more context:

  1. Will courses already downloaded stop working?
Articulate Mobile Player (AMP) courses rely on Flash output, so we'll end support for the AMP app on December 31, 2020. Since operating systems plan to disable Flash at the end of 2020, we don't expect AMP to continue working after that.

We recommend republishing courses to HTML5 without AMP output by December 31, 2020 so they'll automatically open in learners' mobile browsers instead.

  2. Will the AMP be removed from the App store on January 1, 2020?
We don't know the precise timeframe for this yet since it depends on when each store will remove it. We'll notify you as soon as we know more.

Let me know if any more questions pop up!
