Won't publish when I add logo

Mar 28, 2013

When I try to publish my project it seems to be publishing-- it generates all of the slides, but instead of going to "Optimizing Images" it just returns to the publish dialog box.  If I remove the logo in my player it publishes fine, so I'm sure the problem is with my logo.

I have tried jpegs, gifs and pngs of various sizes and nothing seems to work.

Can anybody help?  I'm tearing my hair out here.

Thanks!

Hi there Katie!

Strange, wonder what's going on with the logo. Is the image file for the logo local?

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

If you still aren't able to publish using the logo, are you able to attach the logo file here, so I can try it out in a project?

Thanks!

Thank you so much for your help!  Moving the publishing location so it had a shorter path seems to have done the trick.  I must have just tipped the scales with this project name or something since other projects have published fine.  I'm not sure why the logo seemed to be causing the problem, but it's fixed now so that's good enough for me.

Thank you again for your response!

Katie
