Working with Successfactors LMS and IContent

Hi Everyone,

I am wondering if anyone here uses Articulate Storyline along with IContent in Successfactors LMS for their courses? My question is specifically around launching the courses, do you have to upload the zip file from Articulate to IContent, or have you had success launching the course by uploading only the storyline output?

I am having trouble with the zip file, as it is compressing some of the triggers and animations I have put in the program, so when I launch it thought Successfactors, it acts differently then it does when I am working in Articulate. I am thinking that if I don't have to compress it with a zip file and can use the storyline output instead, this could be avoided.

Any suggestions?

Hi Amanda,

You might want to investigate using SuccessFactors' "SCORM Import" tool - the tool will take your SCORM zip file and extract it to the iContent server for you, plus give you the ability to automatically create content objects and items that you can then use within the admin interface in SF (to add the course to a catalogue, for example).

Alternatively, you can upload the published content from Storyline directly to the iContent server, but then you'll need to manually create content objects and items that reference the course that you upload. I find using the SCORM import tool makes it quite a bit easier.
