YIKES! I lost a project

Dec 17, 2013

I was working on a course. Actually coming close to the end of it. I was about to start adding the test questions. I clicked on Insert > New slide > Quizzing > Draw from Bank. When I clicked the Insert button I got the error message. I submitted the error, closed the course, and when I reopened it, NOTHING! It says 0 scenes even.

I have only been working on it on my local drive.

Any help would be WONDERFUL!

Hi Jill,

Sorry to hear about the problem you encountered with your file, and thanks for confirming you were working locally. Additionally, you'll want to check that the directory path to your project files andyour published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate) and that you avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.

Since it sounds like this is a new error for you, I'd suggest conducting a repair of Storyline and the supporting Windows software.

Thanks, Ashley. I submitted a support request and heard back last night. The file was corrupted. I guess that happens very rarely, and I was a lucky one. I wish my luck has instead been winning the mega millions. So today I start new on my project! Thanks, as always, to Articulate and your amazing customer support. I know if the file could have been saved, someone there would have figured it out.
