I have done something that I am not sure how to fix. I uploaded my modules into a zip file but did not save them in story. Is there anyway to extract the files and open them in story? I tried double clicking on them but my computer goes wild.
Welcome to Heroes! Are we talking about zipping up your published output? If so, it's not possible to open the output in Storyline and have the file recreated. You could view the published output as a reference, but you would be stuck recreating anything that wasn't saved from scratch.
While a Storyline .story file cannot be extracted from the published output, there may be a working version of the project in the temp files. 🤞Here's how to check:
Open this folder in Windows Explorer: %appdata%\Articulate\Storyline
Scan the contents of this folder for a file that starts with the name of the project. If found, copy it to the desktop. If there's more than one, copy the latest version to the desktop.
Change the file extension of the copy on the desktop from *.tmp to *.story.
