Animated Visual Timer

May 24, 2019

Hi all,

I'm trying to build a visual timer for an elearning course in Storyline 360 that animates incrementally (and automatically) based on the length of the course - say, 30 minutes. It does not increment based on slide/layer views or objects clicked. Think of a thermometer where if the temperature rises, the mercury will rise. Also, the course is set to have questions pop up at certain intervals. The timer will pause until the user answers the question, after which the timer will resume.

I looked in the forums and found some visual timer/progress bar examples, but they were based on slide views. Can someone point me to some source files that are similar to what I'm trying to do that I can learn from/modify?

Thanks!

- David

Good day David.

This can be done via the Slide Master. I have attached a file herewith for your perusal suggesting a possible solution. You will need to add some triggers on each question slide / layer to stop the timer accordingly though.

The solution is not perfect, as the time format is not 100% correct and will require some tinkering, but I believe this will be a good starting point for you.
