Is it possible to automatically load text into a slide or the notes so it can be converted into Text to Speech. I have a colleague who creates software packages that automatically download into various softwares like Word, PowerPoint etc. so their customers can use them in different formats.
They would like to use Storyline TTS but want to eliminate the manual steps. Is it possible and who can help?
If the text is already in the notes section of a PowerPoint presentation, then you could import that into Storyline and then use the "copy from notes" features in the TTS window to convert that to TTS. Would that work?
Allison, sorry about the late reply. I can check with the people who asked the question but I would say this is not a solution they want. They want it to be completely automated and not involve human hands.
Although not quite 100% automatic, I have a solution that may just work for your needs. Instead of using Storyline, you would go to the source that Storyline uses, Amazon Polly voices.
Here’s what you do:
Get an Amazon Polly account (yes, there is some cost involved but doesn’t seem that prohibitive) (https://aws.amazon.com/polly/)
Save your scripts as separate files (MS-Word or Text)
Download HeroVoice TTS from the Microsoft Windows Store (fully functioning 15-day free trial)
Encode your files with HeroVoice TTS – apply a global setting for speed and even comma duration so your files are consistent.
Select the voice you want – these are the same as you’ll find in Storyline today including Neural voices (which aren’t currently available in Storyline)
After the files are created, you can then use them as you need to - HeroVoice TTS batch processes your script files which sounds like what you’re trying to do.
Thank you very much for this response. It may very well be the solution my colleague needs. He has a software business and he provides the instructions for people to use his software. He has been using live voice over but this could be a better solution.
I will send this to him and let you know. This is truly the value of the community. All of us are smarter than one of us.

Ah ok. Unfortunately I'm not sure how to make it 100% automatic. Let me know if you find a solution!
