Benefits of New Scene vs Existing scene when importing a Quiz?

Dec 04, 2020

Hey all,

I was just curious if there was any benefits to creating a new scene for imported quizzes versus just importing a quiz into your existing scene.  What are the opinions out there?

Hi, Allen.

Short answer: It depends.

Longer answer: It's really a matter of preference.  I would decide based on how the overall course is set up. If all the slides are in one scene, then I'd be more likely to put the quiz in the same scene. If it already has multiple scenes (for example, one topic/scene), then the quiz probably deserves its own scene, too.

I tend to create new scenes when I might want to go back and preview parts of a course as I am building it, especially when I am adding in several quiz questions. It saves me having to click through all the slides from the beginning. But if I am going to loop back to any of the content slides, I keep them all in the same scene to test the loops. And I agree with Judy, if there are already several scenes and the quiz is not directly linked to only one of them, I make the quiz a separate scene for clarity.

FYI: When previewing, you can click Select to access a drop-down of all the slides being previewed. Then just select the slide you want to jump to.

This is one of those features that's easy to miss. But it can be soooo useful!
