Best option for building & printing large text fill-in test? (Storyline 3)

Jun 20, 2018

Hello Heros!

Help! I have quite a challenge of translating a paper assessment into an online assessment. I've been tasked with creating this assessment for a data-entry process which has upwards of 60 text fill ins per "customer scenario", and the assessment has 6 scenarios ...and the online results of the fill-in need to be gradable and printable.

From what I can sell, the "easy" way is to make one slide for every text entry box as a fill-in-the-blank question. But that would also mean hundreds of slides per scenario. The "simpler-but-harder" is assigning variables to every field and coding the grades from there, and then using JavaScript to capture what they actually entered. Fewer slides, but more code, more room for bugs.

What do you suggest? Are there other alternatives? Anyone have examples to share?
