Best Tablet for Design

Oct 19, 2012

Hello all!

I am a fresher, brand new to the world of Instructional Design and E-Learning production.  I would like to do things on the go, but I need to know if I can use any type of tablet or if I need something specific.  So, do you have any suggests for me?  For instance, the Galaxy Note Tab 10.1, is that a good tablet to start with?

Thank you!

Hi Stacy, and welcome to the Heroes Forum.

Sorry to be such a noodge, but "...good..." for what, exactly?

For drafting?

For storyboarding?

For production of courses?

For learning about what you should/could do?

You will need a PC or a Mac to run Storyline and produce courses - there is currently no mobile version.

Once again, welcome to the boards, and hope to help you on your journey.

Hey..

You have to know exactly what you want to do before you think about the tech.

As mentioned - if you want to use Storyline, well then a tablet is currently no use to you.

If you want to use PowerPoint - then are you going to Wed yourself to packages that produce using that as a base (Articulate Studio is a ppt "Add-on", Storyline is not, although it can use .ppt slides - sometimes).

What exactly is your role?

A lot of the "design" stage I do could be done on Notepad....

Once you can list, and know exactly what you need to do, and how, then the tech will become obvious. It may well be that the PC/Mac solution is the best one, and the "mobile" becomes when you do your research etc.
