Camtasia or Freeware?

Hi all,
I am going to be using WebEx at my company to record Webinars. I know Camtasia can easily turn it into eLearning format but it comes at a cost ($).
Would there be any downside to using freeware (i.e. Webinaria) and then inputting the video into Articulate Storyline or Articulate Presenter?
I am not interested in advanced editting features because my goal is to have quick and easy recorded webinars that learners can access in our learning management system.
I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

Hello Ian,
There is a screen capture function in Storyline itself, depending on the full description of your project you may want to consider this.
I typically think of the screen capture tool for short video. Also, do they capture audio? The webinars will contain pre-recorded webinars.
In addition, would the screen capture tool be beneficial for an hour long webinar?
it will only capture the audio from a mic and speakers, if you are going to capture an hour then you may like to use replay. But in all ninety a tool like camtasia with it's editing options would be a real benefit if you want cut chunks out of you webinar
Ian - I agree with Phil on this one; There's a lot that can happen in an hour+ long webinar, and while you're edits will become streamlined as you move forward (live anyhow); you'll still require editing (likely) before tossing them online.
One of my current projects involves me cutting 4-5 hour seminars into manageable chunks - I actually just wrote a blog post about it (http://ashleychiasson.com/blog/why-i-use-scenes-in-articulate-storyline/) - if you create a library in storyline, USE SCENES.
But I digress.. Camtasia is definitely a worthwhile investment, and you can repurpose it for a lot of different tasks; not just recording webinars. I'm onboard the TechSmith train, and I really think you should be too! Besides, the investment is not enormous and the ROI (in ease of use and making your life/job easier) is bigger!
