If you click on your picture, you will go to your profile. Click the big blue "Edit Profile" button under your picture. Under the Upload your Picture button, there is a line that says, "Don't have a picture handy? No problem, use one of ours." If you click on that link, you will see the available avatars. Anything not included here was created by the member themselves and uploaded as an image.

Cartoon profile pictures? This is a 'selfie' I took earlier...
I'm sure some of the 'cartoon avatars' are more akin to self-portraits.
