When I build a question slide (using a template), and I have a photo as the background, I want a 75% transparency for the "hover" state over each possible answer. This all works fine, until I preview the slide, and find it works for every answer except the correct one, which seems to go 100% opacity, giving the correct answer away by just hovering. I've tried everything, and can't stop this happening. Any advice???
I've sent a file to the help staff and had several email discussions with them. Apparently this has been a problem since Storyline 2 and still not fixed. Why have "hover" and "select" states in question slide templates if they don't work? it's just a complete waste of people's time. It looks like I have to rebuild everything because "states" don't work in question slides and I have to re-build every slide of a six module course (hours of work) using "freeform" slides, which, by the way, are blank. Now I'm nearly a month late delivering this job to my client.
Either fix the problem, or remove "states" from question slides.
I'm sorry you're having this issue, that sounds super frustrating. It looks like no one else has ever reported this issue, so we weren't aware of it until now.
If your questions all look more or less the same, I would suggest rebuilding one as a freeform question, duplicating it, and swapping out the text to save time.

Hi Neil,
Can you share your file? It would be easier to help you if I could get in there and try out a couple solutions. Thanks!

Hi Neil,
I came across this tutorial by Matthew Bibby on the quirkiness of the hover state in SL. This may help with your issue.

Thanks Carolyn. I’ll have a look.
