recently any file I try to open I get a message saying the file is corrupted or build in an old version. but if I open the same file from another computer it opens ok.

you don’t say which product you are using but if you search for ‘repair’ you should be able to find the instructions.

this happens with Storyline 3 and with Storyline 360.
Where can I find the "repair"?
