Create random number where each digit appears as an image. User would determine the number based on the images they see. Random number and user entry both recorded/exported in order to review with trainer/boss

Hello,

I'm not sure that this is even possible, but was wondering if any of the exceptional minds out there can help me with building a simulation.

I work for a utility company and meter readers are expected to have very high accuracy in reading meters. Over 99%. What I'd like to do (if even possible) is to create a random meter read generator. Most meters have 4 dials that show kilowatt hour usage.

Here's where my imagination might be getting ahead of my abilities/the abilities of Storyline. (I have Articulate 360 here at work)

What I'd like to do is have a random 4 digit number be generated by a user action (click a button?). The number would be hidden to the user, but will be recorded as the "correct" answer for that generated meter. Each of the four digits would correlate to a meter dial (image) who's indicator hand is pointed to the same number that was randomly generated.

To (try to) simplify: 1 = a, 2 = b, 3 = c, 4 = d. User clicks the "random" button and a number: 4312, is generated and recorded (exported?). What the user sees is "dcab". They look at "dcab" and determine that means "4312". They enter 4312... somewhere, and Storyline determines they are correct. Ideally, both the generated "correct" answer and the users entry would then be recorded/exported somehow so that the Trainer/Manager can see the answers they got correct or incorrect.

Thanks for your time!

Okay, I wasn't sure if I'm, at least on the right track. See attached the .story file. There are lots of options to refine and adapt the basic logic. I'm not sure though about the 'recording/exporting' portion. Usually, Storyline reports a score (not a random number) to an LMS. My first thought was to write the values to a Google spreadsheet, but maybe someone else has a better idea.
