Demo: Simple example enables learner to record own voice

I thought it would be cool if people taking a course could record their own voice as part of the learning. Something like this might come in handy for courses in which the learner needs to practice a language skill, presentation skills or even as a way of rehearsing a part in a play.

I found a widget at http://vocaroo.com/?widgets that I embedded into Storyline.  It isn't fancy and there is no way to save the recorded file but it works in swf and html5. I have not tested on the Articulate Player yet.

There is a way, which utilises the Web Audio API, however that only works on WebKit browsers at this point.

Here's an example. (Chrome/Safari only)

However, this means the solution is not uniform and you may have to use both the flash widget above and something like this on Webkit enabled browsers, at this point.

It doesn't look like it's going to get much better in the future either - I'd like to see what happens when Chrome moves away from webkit for good...
