Drag and drop with variable count

HI
I am using SL2 and creating a window display event, the idea is that a student drags and drops items into a display that make it attractive to a potential customer, there are various items ie Washing machines, hoovers and irons etc. However the issue I have is that that each item has a price and they must not go over a certain amount. I know I can apply variables to the items but can this be achieved within a drag and drop scenario. So the items goes into a display shelf ( for example) and the price of the item is added to a running total that is displayed. The total can go over the limit as instruction can be given to the student that their limit is i.e £1500

Hi Marc,
Great question, I love a bit of a challenge.
It looks like there are two options. 1. 'adjust variable' when 'object dropped on'. 2. 'adjust variable' when 'state'
Have a look at the attached, I used option 1 to add and option 2 to subtract.
(I also started working on message to say when they went over budget but that needs a little more work.)
Is that the kind of thing you were thinking of?
Best wishes,
Len
That is brilliant ..now I need to try and apply to my slide which is going to be a challenge but thank you so much for your input
No problem, give me a shout if you need any help.
Good luck!
I have done everything except, the reset button, I followed your example but when reset is pressed the total is zeroed but the items stay where they were dropped, yet yours snap back..can you help please ?
Well done, that last bit is a bit of a hack, perhaps someone can suggest a better way.
You need to set the Reset button to jump back to the slide that you are on and the key bit is to set the slide to set the slide to 'Reset to initial state' when revisiting.
I am failing badly now as the the layer will not work and reset not working tho mine looks like yours can you see where going wrong please as driving me into dispair
Stop the press have re done it and now works fully...at last
