Eight courses within a course

Hi ! I am trying to build a course that will at some point need to split into 8 different subjects where students will only complete the subject relevant to them. Is there any way to do this is Storyline 2 and can the player menu be adapted to show only the individual students subject chosen ?

Any ideas ? Don't be afraid !!

A few options:

You can create 8 separate courses.

  • Make the players chromeless by getting rid of the play features and make it transparent.
  • After publishing, change the story.html to index.html
  • Insert each course as a web object onto its own slide.

Create each course in a single Story file.

  • The courses can be separated by scenes.
  • Use variables to track the user selection and only make the courses they select visible. 

Use an LMS or webpage (if you don't have an LMS). You could even use something like a Google Doc form with embedded links.

  • LMS are designed to manage courses.
  • Have 8 separate courses that the learner takes based on some sort of criteria established via the LMS.
