Help me....I'm pulling the TRIGGER!!!
Mar 28, 2018
Howdy all,
Sorry for the pun, but I am seriously ready to 'pull the trigger' on this trigger/variable combo that I cannot get to work. I've searched downloads, discussion threads, and the web for ideas on why this trigger/variable combo (designed to show depleting "production power" each time a user chooses incorrectly) won't work.
Process: I created a true/false variable (yes, it's named 'attempt1rainbow'...don't judge -the first time I tried I had a rainbow colored slider that I couldn't get to change either. Deleted that and went with the "power canisters of production.") that changes if the user clicks the "wrong" button. Once that value changes, on following slides, I have the lost power shown as a changed state "empty" based on if variable =false.
I used the same set up to choose avatars...and that works just fine, but when I preview the scenario - the (enter expletive here) "power canisters of production" doesn't change whether I click on the correct or wrong button.
HELP!?! See attached file to see what I've done so far. Sorry if this branching scenario is super remedial....I am a newbie to Articulate 360 and "winging it" as I learn more than basic skills - this is my first attempt at branching.

Hi Jennifer,
Try moving the trigger to adjust your variable above the jump to slide trigger you have on the same button. This worked for me.
Nothing remedial about your branching BTW. I think you've taken on some complex tasks here and you're doing well.
Oh my word - IT WORKED!!!!!!! You may be my hero for the rest of the weekend! HURRAH!!!!!
And thank you, I'm super insecure about this. I don't like being a novice. LOL But every expert has to start by failing somewhere! :)
Hi Jennifer,
Don't be skiddish at all. All time best definition of an Expert....

Glad you got it sorted!
