How to indicate "no sound"
Mar 30, 2018
Hi, looking for examples of how to indicate there is no audio (narration, music) on a 'press and play' video demo we created in Storyline, without adding a lot of text to the initial screen. For example, would you add it to the button label ("no sound"), add it as text on the first screen, or...?
We named the button "Take a guided visual tour" but test users were still wondering where the sound was. Here is the link to our draft of the demo: https://blueshieldprovidereducation.articulate-online.com/4926297759
Thanks in advance!

Angelica: Course looks nice. I suggest at the opening slide have text on-screen indicating that this presentation doesn't contain audio. Have it stay on-screen like maybe 20 seconds or so. If they miss it, well -- not much you can do for people who don't read.
I would remove the Volume and Seekbar from the player. Both give the impression audio is playing, but they can't hear it.
That's a good point, Amanda. At least remove the volume. Sometimes a
seekbar is nice, as it lets learner know how long th slide is.
I think people only watch the seekbar to know whether the slide is done and they can click Next or whatever the navigation may be. In this example, the user has no control over the navigation. If this is a guided tour, the viewer should not see any indication of slides changing, etc.
Thanks Daniel and Amanda for the great feedback!
you could make a small PowerPoint with the text scrolling over and save export it as a video file... Or download wonder share video for free and make a small video with scrolling text and add it in to your course...
