I would like to add a female voice to our list of contractors for elearning. Our content is highly technical (engineering) so she would need to be comfortable with that. If interested please reply and I can get you a test script to demo.
I have a couple of female narrators, good at technical stuff, that record at my studio regularly. I'd be happy to give them a sample script and they can get in touch with you with their demos.
The service I highly recommend is voices.com They have a very wide range of talent. Via their site you get VO peeps to bid on your job. You select the voice and everything is arranged via the site. As you get to like some voices you can inquire about working outside the site.
I like it cause it allows you a safety net before you commit to a relationship with someone.
I agree that commitments are difficult, but I find that on big sites like that the inexperienced are lumped in with the experienced voices, so careful weeding is necessary. Voices these days need to be able to reliably self-direct, self-record, etc. (someone who can look at a big technical script as "just another day in the studio" and even sound like they enjoy it, LOL. That's rare!)
