I have been given the task of creating an interest inventory. There are 24 statements that they can choose from, and based on their answers they will be assigned one or two of six different categories (interest areas). Would Storyline or Quizmaker be best for this type of project? Any suggestions?
Hi Laura! I'm not quite sure I have a clear understanding of what you are trying to accomplish, but my initial thoughts would be that you can use Storyline and the Checkbox buttons to set up your 24 statements, then based on what is selected, you can present the interest areas. When you say "assign" a category, are you just wanting to display those categories to the screen?
I agree with rapid, the best method would be to set up check boxes. Setting up the variables is going to be the tricky part. It would help out a bit if we knew how the categories would be assigned.
There are 6 categories and 4 statements that correspond to each category. If a participant chooses 2 or more statements in a particular category. It will show as an area of interest for that participant on a results screen. I will look at the check boxes in Storyline. Thanks!
Ok. I think checkboxes is the best way to go. You'll have to set up variables for each catagory and when a user clicks on a statement that corresponds to a catagory, it will increase the variable by one. The tricky part will be to only display the top two interests. You could display an overal board and than the user can see where his interests lie.
