IPAD Support

Feb 07, 2012

It is becoming critical that we are able to deliver content to an Apple device.   Can some provide an update on HTML5 support and when it will be available? I am not seen any recent posts on the topic.

Thanks!

Hi there Paula -  We are in the home stretch of our beta for Articulate Storyline, which will publish for iOS devices and html5. Although we haven't announced a release date yet, you can sign up here to be notified as soon as Storyline launches. Also, we're concurrently working on the next major update to Articulate Studio, which will also offer iOS and html5 publishing.

In the meantime, you might want to check out Tom's blog post here for some ideas on making your content work on a mobile device. One of the ideas he mentions is a tool called iSwifter, and another Articulate user shared a post on that as well. I've also heard of folks using a tool called Skyfire with success, and this user recently mentioned the Photon web browser as a good alternative for playing Articulate-published content on an iPad.

@Paula - yes, the current plan is to release in 2012, and a good way to stay on top of the news regarding that is to subscribe to the Word Of Mouth blog or follow us on Twitter or Facebook. We'll announce any new releases there.

@Jim - for questions that are specific to the Storyline beta, please make sure to post in the private beta forum. We'll post more news there about upcoming beta releases (and the features they'll include) as that info becomes available.

We would be extremely interested in support options for the iPad and other tablet platforms. I know Captivate is now offering limited support, so I am pleasantly surprised to see Articulate stepping up. With an easy-to-use interface, awesome support community, and intuitive functionality I am excited to see you guys knock it out of the park.

Thank you for the current support options and for providing us some tentative timing on rollout.
