We have encountered the following issue while developing a course with Articulate.
Background: We have created external flash files to link with Articulate project.
Issue: After inserting the flash files successfully in the ppt, we are unable to view the file in a Preview mode. Also, when we close the Preview mode and switch back to the ppt again, then the flash file disappears.
Assuming the files were inserted into your presentation correctly (tutorial here), there are a few general limitations for using Flash animations in Presenter ’09 that may be affecting your results (from this helpful link):
“Off-stage” elements contained in a Flash movie will appear in Presenter ’09.
Because the presenter panel was designed for video, a SWF file that is imported into the presenter panel must include at least two frames to work properly.
if they are as3 they will not work, if the flash files require other files to function e.g. xml file they will not work in preview. if the flash file is on a usb drive or network drive network drive they may not display. Also if the filepath is greater than 256 characters they may not work
Hi, I have the exact same issue. Odd thing is that the issue exists only on some slides, within the same project some slides work fine and others do not. The flash file is a button with some simple code to go to next slide. Im new to Flash so may be going wrong somewhere. Had a look through the suggestions/links and as far as I can see im following correct procedure. Attached the swf. Thanks
Found the issue for our project. It was around master slides, i removed the master slides from the slides where the flash button was a problem and it worked. Button appeared in preview and remained on the ppt slide after closing the preview.

This workaround worked for me! yay!! After spending almost 4 hours trying to find the problem in the flash project... the issue was on Articulate.. :-/
