Learning Developer Position in NYC

Affiliates Risk Management Services (ARMS) provides insurance, educational and risk management services and tools to more than 700 ambulatory health centers located throughout the United States. ARMS operates an online learning and performance center designed for medical and non-medical staff at these facilities.  The training is provided through a variety of modalities including web-based learning including eLearning and webinars, face-to-face learning, simulation, and mobile learning.  Certain learning activities have been accredited for continuing medical education (CME) credit.  The center operates on a Saba learning management system.

 

ARMS seeks a Learning Developer for its online learning and performance center. The Learning Developer will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance and quality assurance of eLearning and mLearning courses, instructor-led training, and performance support tools.   

 

This position reports to the Learning Development Manager. Compensation includes a salary commensurate with experience, annual bonus opportunity, and a strong benefits package including 401k (with ARMS contribution and match), major medical, dental, vision, and long term and short term disability. ARMS is a nonprofit organization and is headquartered in New York City.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Design and develop eLearning and mLearning courses, instructor-led training, and performance support tools.
  2. Update existing eLearning and mLearning courses, instructor-led training, and performance support tools.
  3. Perform quality assurance checks on projects.
  4. Maintain and follow design and development standards, policies, and procedures.
  5. Assist with other projects within ARMS, such as presentations, newsletters, and graphics.
  6. Ability to write and edit content, instructional text, audio scripts, and video scripts and to design interactive and engaging learning opportunities.
  7. Ability to research industry trends and innovations related to online learning for healthcare providers.

Job Requirements:

  1. Minimum five years of work experience developing eLearning and mLearning. 
  2. Minimum two years working with Articulate, Storyline, or comparable tools. 
  3. Experience developing eLearning and mLearning in a professional healthcare organization is preferred.
  4. Bachelor’s Degree in related subject preferred.  Masters preferred.
  5. Strong project management skills and experience.
  6. Strong knowledge of rapid eLearning development tools such as Articulate and Storyline. 
  7. Experience with custom development eLearning tools such as Flash. 
  8. Strong knowledge of graphics programs including Adobe Suite.
  9. Strong understanding of adult learning theory and the ADDIE method.
  10. Full understanding of Kirkpatrick’s Level of Evaluations and ability to write meaningful and measurable L2 evaluations.
  11. Excellent organizational skills with a focus on details.
  12. Ability to analyze information and use deductive reasoning.
  13. Ability to take initiative and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  14. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely present information, and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
