LMS considerations

Sep 05, 2013

Ladies and Gentlemen,

My company is working on producing a commercial LMS product.  We are unexperienced in delivering a complete LMS package.  We have used Articulate presenter to create scorm compliant modules that we have uploaded to LITMOS and are selling as an aggregated course.

The decision has been made to market to companies a version of this training for use on their own internal LMS systems.  My problem is that I don't know whether the individual classes can be packaged together or what will happen if we try to send the individual scorm packages to a company.

So, does anyone have a suggestion on how to package individual scorm packages together as one bundle?

Should you just roll up all the content into one scorm package using presenter?  I'm looking at 9+ hours of total content.  I feel like having just one "class"  of 9+ hours would be overwhelming.

Does anyone know of an internal LMS demo that we could use to test how this would act?  We've looked at cloud solutions and I've been told that's not the direction we want to look at.

And lastly, does anyone have experience with marketing their cloud based LMS instructions to companies?  I think this route would save hassle for both those buying instructional materials and us providing it.  I need some backing for this though and any thoughts/proof of concept would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

Regards,

Robert
